For Collect 2018, Katie Spragg is creating three new works. These pieces are an evolution of her Glasshouse piece, shortlisted for the British Ceramic Biennial AWARD show, and draw inspiration from Kew Gardens.
The three pieces will take the form of miniature greenhouse sections - wooden frames with combinations of clear and textured glass and polished concrete bases will house Katie’s intricately modelled porcelain plants. They explore an ongoing fascination in Katie’s work; the relationship between the way we cultivate nature and how it grows freely, uninvited and independently.
