1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair

10 - 13 October 2024
We are thrilled to announce our participation at  the 1-54 Art Fair  the first and only international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora.

We will be debuting the incredible work of Dola Posh, a Nigerian photographer based in the UK. Her current project explores and documents her journey of motherhood through stunning self-portraits, capturing the simplicity of everyday life, the unspoken strength of being a mother, and the importance of self-identity during this transformative process. Through her lens, she explores the themes of self-identity loss and postpartum depression, creating a powerful blend of strength and vulnerability.

Our curated selection will showcase a diversity of mediums, also featuring the works of:

Ashley January  a contemporary painter from Chicago. Her work, informed by her maternal experiences, delves into themes of preeclampsia, premature birth, and birth trauma. Ashley's latest body of work continues to address the Black maternal mortality and morbidity crisis in America.

Freya Bramble-Carter, a London-based ceramicist. Freya’s spiritual relationship with clay, or “the mud” as she calls it, infuses her work with a sacred, ancient energy. She believes that working with clay is like touching the Earth and communicating with unseen forces, drawing people to her art.

Don't miss this incredible showcase of diverse talents and mediums!

The fair will take place from 10 – 13 October this Autumn, coinciding with Frieze London.
