‘Dry the Rain’ uses the imagery of traditional fairy tales to consider contemporary issues of loss, dislocation, and political polarisation. The dreamlike painting is based on Jungian psychological theory and its Shadow analysis. The resulting work includes intense colour, semi-abstraction, and mysterious subject matter reminiscent of Expressionist and Symbolist painters of the early 20th century.
