Narrative:
This is a self portrait with my son, Quinn. A contemplation in the garden my mother created for us. Unfortunately, Black mothers in the United States are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white mothers. This painting serves as a call to action to create awareness surrounding the Black maternal mortality and morbidity crisis.
